| Beauty in ruins |
| IT'S amazing how some ruins can actually look beautiful. Like the ruins of Pompeii. But even as far back as 79AD traffic was a problem. The photo above shows four blocks in the road. This was to allow two-way cart traffic to pass. Other narrower roads on the complex have just two blocks, allowing only one-way traffic flow. Some things never change! Below right shows an unfortunate victim of the volcanic eruption, killed in an instant and the body gradually petrified into stone, giving a chilling image of his last moment in life.
